have any of you actually looked inside a 2 stroke engine? these things are made to blow up! its like a top fuel funny car , yah it has 7000 hp, but it gets rebuilt every 1/4 mile pass, sleds are no different, you look at the power and rpm these things are turning, its surprising that they last more than a day, think about it less than 1 litre dispacement making 150 hp, apply that to any other type of engine and see how long it lasts, and for most of us stock isn`t good enough so tack another 25 - 100 hp on to that, for a thin cast aluminum block, i`ve got a old 440 single carb, single pipe panther my kids ride, my great great grandchildren will probably ride that sled, its gutless and slow , but it does what is expected to do, if you want performance and longevity, spend the money now, buy a professionaly built high performance engine designed to withstand the pressures, because there isn`t a factory block out there that will take the abuse for any length of time,
