I got an 00 Polaris 550 RMK. I'm small so i don't need more than that. It's piped and has a 136" track with 2" lugs on it.

ive got a 2002 rmk 500, its to small for me but it does amazing for a 500. it keeps up to my buddies m6 and summit 700, so i cant complain, but i would kill for an 07 m8, imo best sled out there cuz its got one of the best power to weight ratios out there, and my buddys m6 takes a shit kicking and is regularly slammed into trees, yet keeps commin for more.. go cats

all you skidoo fellas dogging on cats sayin they're crap and ticking time bombs and what not must not have been paying attention for the past oh say 4 or 5 years. cuz im pretty sure that skidoo is the one that has had all kinds of recalls on there motors the last few years because they are pretty much gaurentied to blow up by about the 2500 mile mark dew to a bad ring design. now im not gonna stoop to the imatureity of some of the little fruits on here and say that doos are junk just cuz i ride a cat, acually ive ridden polaris all my life until this year, i just decided its time for a change. im just stating a proven fact. i will admit that one of the hardest pulling sleds i rode was a rev 800 but they just havent had the reliabilty to go with the power. maybe the new R engine will have the better updated rings and they wont have the same problems. until they are proven and they come out with a better chassis thats not so rider forward that it dives like the rev i personaly will steer clear of the doos

yeah, ring problems in 03.5 and 04, you loose some compression. then you replace the rings with the 05 06 easy fix. they don't "blow up".

the skidoo ring problem was more than just looseing alittle compression the rings were flaking and braking apart last year one of my buddies had all of his revs in the shop atleast once for this problem and they all ended up getting atleast new pistons. they got lucky they didnt have to get the cylinders renicked or replaced. his revs range from 04-06 models. and i know of many others having the problem dating as far back as 01 in the old chassis

shitty luck for all your buddys, All I had to do was replace the rings. I ride with 03.5, 04, 05, 06, and 07's and no other problems.

well hopefully you dont have to do anything else, it sucks when that shit happens no matter what kinda sled you ride. maybe you got your rings changed before they had a chance to flake. what happened in my buddys sled was it caused the piston to break off above the ring groove he got lucky he didnt have to change the jugs. all sleds have there up fall and down falls

dont call it NOS unless it is actually NOS.  Besides, nitrous is for pussies, turbo's are the way to go.
