Painting My Shocks

    I have a green F7 that came stock with yellow front coils but I wanna change them to black.  Wondering if anybody has any advice for doing it myself at home.

umm not too sure but u might need a special paint so it doesint chip when the spring compreses...but once again not sure

grab some marroon scotch brite pads,(from a buddy shop) or crappy tire, green ones will work.
remove the springs from your shocks and sand by hand.
sand enough to remove the gloss and give the paint somethin to stick too.
buy some flat or gloss black paint from crappy tire etc, wash the springs down with brake cleaner or soapy water and allow to dry.
 
now painting theses might take some effort because theres so many different angles, to cover with paint.
 
due lots of coats and maybe some clear if you want to.
 
now remeber these were probly powder coated from the factory soo if you hit to many sticks the paint will chip.
i suggest lots of clear, so the finish lasts longer.

i disagree 2 much clear will make it chip easier, i have 3 race helmets and all have been painted by Herm Design and they all have just 2 layers ofclear. 2 for dirt track racin and they take rocks and clay like nobodys business and still lok great the other is my sled and same no chips but thats my oppion

i suggest bringing them to a shop that does powder coating,... they'll do all the prep work a the powder coat will last alot longer and keep a nice look. and mabey 20 bucks a spring
also just grab a royal distributing book or somthing of the like and order a set of shock covers. appox 30 bucks and some different designs
