How to set oil pump cable?

I just put a new oil pump cable on my yamaha sxr 500 (2001), and was wondering how to set it correctly.  I noticed there are 2 marks on the arm that raises up and down, and one on the pump.  How do these help me set it.  Is one supposed to line up at idel?  Any help would be greatly appriciated.

with the throttle closed, line up the hash marks on the lever and the pump, check when ever you service your sled, the cables stretch over time and it may need to be readjusted

yup just line up the hash marks if it smokes and fouls plugs recheck it its runnin  to rich.
