Snow Globe~
I shake the globe as I hold it firmly in my hand. The snow falls so gently, leaving a silent but deadly destruction. My life and this globe share so much in common. So many people peer into the glass walls in which I live, so many people can easily drop or break me. Within the glass figurine it’s cold, dark and obviously lonely. Within my globe, my life, things come unexpectedly. Soon its spring, the season where new things happen, beautiful fields of flowers bloom, new offspring are born but in a snow globe you have nothing to look forward to. You live in your igloo trying to keep yourself sheltered from the crisp breeze, the one that is so cold it pierces your soul, much like friends. You snuggle up to yourself within the pitch-blackness, searching…searching for warmth but will you ever find it? For in a snow globe you live a sheltered life one that may only be observed and judged.
